Decolonise Fest is a DIY punk festival by and for punx of colour. The 2-day festival was organised by a collective of DIY Diaspora Punx and was jam packed with music and workshops celebrating punx of colour.

A Fire On The Inside is the debut album of reggae-rock/alternative trio, Cressy Jaw. They aren’t afraid to rebel against the establishment through their music, with their songs telling honest stories about the harsh reality of the world we live in. Cressy Jaw are a fantastic band to see live so we were excited to hear their debut album.

BBC Music Introducing was launched 10 years ago this month, and to celebrate, they launched Amplify. Held earlier this month at ExCel London, Amplify is a weekend-long event that was created for musicians and people looking to work in the music industry. Of course, I had to check out this event to see if it was worth the hype - even if Ella couldn’t be there with me.

On Friday, we finally paid a long-awaited visit to the Barnet Folk Club - our local folk club. We initially planned to attend the event as audience members, but were kindly offered a slot to perform!

After hearing The Sky is a Neighbourhood, I was excited to hear the rest of Concrete and Gold. From the opening soft harmonised vocals, to the raspy entrance of Dave Grohl's vocals and the simple pulsating drum beat; it has all the ingredients of a classic rock anthem - simple but embellished in all the right places. In all, it's a definite crowd pleaser and the obvious choice for a single.

3WW seemed at first an unusual choice for RELAXER's debut single. This largely electronic track starts off with a one and a half minute long instrumental introduction, incorporating a guitar riff, and electronic percussion until, at last - the singing starts!

With no prior expectations of any of the artists, we really didn't know what to expect. We were immediately intrigued when Sara brought out a hole-less nylon guitar, and Kenny, a red electric. The sound that was created when they started playing was mesmerising and refreshingly unique. They were exceptionally skilled musicians, both with varied backgrounds in music.
